Disclaimer: we understand that this movie is a new release. If you have not yet seen Venom, we give ample ‘spoiler warning’ time before we deep dive into the discussion. Our general, ‘spoiler free’ impressions are at the beginning of this review.
Ah Venom. What can I really say here? I’ve been trying to write this description for nearly an hour, and I simply can’t find the words. Because Venom has done the unthinkable. It has made me speechless. This movie has ripped a hole in the space/time continuum and appeared in 2018 despite clearly being made in 2000 when plots like this in superhero movies were almost acceptable. We had lower expectations after things like Steele and Spawn broke us down like symbiotes. This movie is a disaster in many ways. And I have no qualms with sharing that in the description because what I’ll also say is that this may be my favorite movie theatre experience of all time, and if that doesn’t intrigue you enough to listen to this review, then I don’t know what will. I hope you enjoy this one as much as we did. Featuring Special Guest Star John ‘Johnny Baltimore’ Barbieri from Book It: Sports With John and Greg!
